the rules
A comet named VESPER makes 30 passes over Robinhood Chain. Each pass lasts one hour, and the next begins 72 hours after the last one began. Pass 1 opens the moment the token is live. After pass 30 the comet is gone for good.
catching
- Only while the comet is passing can anyone catch a fragment. A catch burns 2,000 $COMET — all of it, to the dead address.
- A wallet can catch up to 3 fragments per pass. Catches are made by wallets, not by other contracts.
- Pass 1 carries 64 fragments. Every later pass carries 32, plus two for every wallet that caught on the pass before, up to 256.
- Whatever is not caught by the end of the hour is gone forever.
the five kinds
- Every fragment is dust, ice, rock, fire or heart, drawn from a block hash at the moment of the catch.
- The odds improve every second of the pass. At the first minute: heart 0.2%, fire 1%, rock 5%, ice 20%. At the last: heart 4%, fire 12%, rock 25%, ice 35%.
- So the rarest come right at the tail — if there is anything left to catch by then.
- Every fragment is an ERC-721 token with its picture drawn by the contract: its kind, its pass, and the second it was caught. Hold it, move it, sell it.
the risk, plainly
The draw uses the previous block's hash, which Robinhood Chain's sequencer produces. Unaudited. Nothing you burn comes back.
what the contract cannot do
Hold ETH, move a burn anywhere but the dead address, mint outside a pass, add a pass, pause, or upgrade. The owner key names the token once — which brings the comet in for pass 1 — and is inert forever after.
